What are Spaces?

See how Spaces keep teams focused on their own data

Not every team needs to see every piece of feedback. Spaces let each team scope their view to what they own — a product, a project, or a specific part of the business — so they're working with a relevant dataset.

Introducing Spaces

A Space is a team-defined home for feedback, reports and dashboards. It uses criteria like themes, segments, data sources and tags to show each team only what’s relevant to them. By default, you’ll start in Global, which includes all feedback across your organisation.

For example:

  • A Product team might only need app feedback

  • Marketing might focus on feedback about the website experience

  • Operations might look at comments on delivery and logistics

Currently, Spaces apply across the Home, Feedback, Chat, Reports, and Dashboards tabs. Spaces do not apply to the Workflows or Alerts tabs.

How to get access to Spaces?

Spaces are currently in Closed Beta, and we're actively gathering feedback from early users to shape the feature ahead of a wider rollout. Customers who'd like early access should reach out to [email protected] or their dedicated XLG Programme Lead to request it. Alternatively, you can submit a request here.

Spaces and Proactive Insights

Spaces also scope Proactive Insights. The Stories surfaced within a Space are generated only from the data inside that Space, so the insights a team sees are specific to their scope, not the whole organization.

Please note: during Closed Beta, Spaces are created and removed by Chattermill.

How to create a new Space?

Setting up a Space is currently a manual process — request one through Chattermill's XLG team or Product team. Once a Space is created, users with Spaces enabled can switch between available Spaces. Existing data permissions still determine what each user can see.

How many Spaces can a customer create?

There’s no hard limit on the number of Spaces, but during Closed Beta we recommend a soft cap of 10. Keeping Spaces focused helps ensure there’s enough feedback to generate useful Stories, while setup is still managed manually.
